The week of July 5, we attended a Catholic family camp at Heart Ridge Retreat and Cultural Center in Sunset, SC. A great time was had by all. The camp was a great balance between prayer and play. We prayed morning and evening prayer together as a large group, had daily mass, and daily access to confession and a chapel in which the Blessed Sacrament was reserved. There were sessions dedicated to family growth and bonding, as well as good old fashioned campy activities, including songs, games, and enjoyment of the Great Outdoors.
Every member of the family thoroughly enjoyed themselves and we hope to go back again, God willing. "Blessed" of all, we all experienced healing from our recent loss, which is also thanks to the prayers of several friends and acquaintances who have been been supporting us in prayer through this time. We are grateful for the Body of Christ. God is gentle and a loving Father to us!
