Rachel's Pink Party

Rachel celebrated her 29th birthday last week.  (Her last year as a child, as she put it.)  And in honor of the occasion, she threw herself a "Pink and Girlie Party" which was a lot of fun!  A good friend of hers lent his house for the event.  She invited a few mothers and their daughters who she is friendly with and has also babysat for many times, so she has a good relationship with the children and they all regard her fondly as "Miss Rachel."

Everyone was asked to wear pink and she planned some pink and girlie crafts and decked out the dining room in pink and planned as many pink and dainty foods as possible.  She served fruit salad of watermelon, strawberries and grapes, stuffed cherry tomatoes, stuffed mushrooms, egg muffin cups (bacon and eggs and veggies baked in a muffin tin), shrimp and avocado salad with crackers.  For dessert she served banana cake petits fours with a layer of peanut butter frosting and covered in chocolate, pink macaron cookies, and her favorite coconut cake with pink frosting.  (I think that's everything!)

Among her guests were various diets, so she planned a gluten free, dairy free and vegetarian menu!  (There was just one item for each category that didn't fit all three diets.)

I think it was a lot of work for Rachie, but a big success and an enjoyable morning.  I know that Clara and I certainly enjoyed it!

Rachel and the pink ladies!

The dining room all decorated in pink.  She used plates that she got from Grandma Jean.

P.S. - Rebecca, I wore my bridesmaid dress from your wedding to the party and one of the girls chose me as the "best dressed" in the adult category!
