A good news good-bye

A lot of our friends and local family have already heard, but our next door neighbor - the obsessive-compulsive, grumpy curmudgeon one - sold his house!  It went on the market a few months ago, which was very exciting, but since then we've endured almost daily lawn mowing and the usual antics of getting his extra twigs and debris thrown in OUR yard and moving our garbage cans, etc.  He is definitely one of the most UN-neighborly people we've had the misfortune to come across and has been a thorn in our side for the past four-plus years (as we have undoubtedly been to him since we do not have the same excruciatingly high standards of lawn and landscaping maintenance.)

We are praying that we get some nice new neighbors.  A young family would be ideal, but I won't get my hopes up.  Even a sweet old lady like my other next door neighbor would be great.  At least, I am hoping that whoever-they-may-be will allow the crape myrtles between our driveways to grow tall. (I don't think they make attractive shrubs and the one near the street blocks my view of traffic when trying to get out of the driveway.)  That is on my wish list of new neighbor to-do's!

Good bye, incessant leaf blowing!
Good bye, twig tossing!
Good bye, dirty looks!
Good bye, grumpy face!
Good bye, daily lawn mowing!
Good bye, Bill!
