Simon is doing better ever since he started the antibiotics. He is much more comfortable while urinating, although he still seems a little troubled by it. However, a side effect of taking the antibiotics is diarrhea. So now the frequent stools and the ensuing cleansing have made his bottom very very sore and enflamed and this is now causing him quite a bit of agony. He also has been rather uninterested in solid foods until tonight but he's been nursing a lot, so still getting plenty of nourishment. Tonight, the whole Charlotte Wood family was treated to dinner at Sullivan's for Melissa's 40th birthday and Simon ate a good amount of freeze dried strawberries and chicken rice soup that I had brought for him. (Hopefully it doesn't cause him too much trouble on the other end!)
God willing, this will be the one and only bladder infection of his life. When I took him to our PCP for follow-up, the P.A. said that males are allowed one UTI/bladder infection. If they get a second one, they have to have a complete urinary workup.
