We flew to Boston directly from the HHI/Savannah airport. Michael and I both agree that was the worst air travel experience that either of us have ever had. I won't go into all the details here, since I already wrote two pages to the airline (AirTran) to describe our complaint. However, once we were in Boston, it was great to visit with my Aunt Candace. Joseph was very interested in her cats, who were for the most part very afraid of him so they never lingered too long. Candace was able to take us to the zoo near her home which was a real blast for Joseph. We also enjoyed Elizabeth's wedding and reception and were glad to hear that Joseph fared very well without us for those several hours.
This past weekend has been the "Hoffman Family Reunion." ALL of the Hoffman siblings (seven of us) and our respective families, were reunited for the first time in over two years, but really closer to three years. It was so great to see everyone and talk and play games just like old times! It's hard to believe that everyone is dispersing again. The next time we all see each other again will probably be at David's wedding (next summer). And after that... who knows?
We also celebrated Joseph's second birthday (Aug 14) and he had two birthday parties: one with the Hoffman family and one with the Wood family.
And the last piece of familial news is that we had our ultrasound this past Friday and were overjoyed to find out we are having a boy! Everything they check for during the ultrasound was normal and healthy and the baby measured 11oz. They also changed my due date from Jan 13 to Jan 2 based on the baby's measurements (which is similar to Joseph's pregnancy that was also under 40 weeks.) No decision on names yet... we still have to think and reflect about that.
Congrats on the baby boy, Sarah!! Sounds like you've had lots of adventures recently.
